Artist vs A.I.

Do you know what makes art - art? The internet (and the ignorant) would like to assume it's just a visually appealing thing to look at and consume… but from a real artist's perspective, I believe art is the Source of creation expressed through the human consciousness in a form that inspires others to feel, think, and act differently.

By definition, Art is the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power (The Oxford English Dictionary).

Art is what makes us human and part of this collective Universe. Art in all mediums is essential to seeing life through real human experiences, emotions, and imagination. Artificial Intelligence cannot and will not capture the true essence of real art, because A.I. cannot create or imagine; it can only regurgitate what it's been fed.

Artists have always been a subject of debate about legitimacy throughout time - our work is never fully understood or valued by the general population and is often highly criticized for not playing an essential role in human civilization.

Yet, time and time again, when there are social injustices, corruption, celebration, entertainment, the essentials to sustaining humanity, artists are the truth behind it all, capturing reality in a world full of consumption, distraction, fear, and lies.

Artificial Intelligence is not an artist or creator of art, and never will be. Real artists are those who create from a place deeper within themselves and express it. And as long as there are people with imaginations humanity will survive.
